Two-Door, Tax Exempt .......

#1 Post by Dolly Bird » Fri May 05, 2006 9:25 pm

..... Triumph Toledo. I know Toledo's aren't most peoples "thing", but it is an extremely early two door example, which I believe aren't that easy to come by now.
I know of an early 2 door in very solid original condition. I think it has a rod through the block but that wouldn't be too much trouble to sort.
I know this year. Was in beautiful condition a few years ago, then some d**k got hold of it and make it look like it had been run over by a moped.

I like the black boot and bonnet, the exhaust can be changed and a set of slot mags can go on

What's wrong with a black bonnet & boot?

On a Nova or a Toledo?

Seriously, in my mind its about as naff as Viper style stripes from bonnet to boot. I don't see that many nice Toledos these days and if someone wanted to right that particular car, they would have to respray the whole lot as it would be impossible to match the red. Probably not many people who would budget to do that so it will spend the rest of its days looking like a chav throw-back until eventually it gets scrapped.

Oh well!
That's a completely different kettle of fish Martin. Yours has the presence to carry it. 2 Door toledo on skinny tyres? I think not!
Of course there is a original advert for the Dolomite which states that the car "doesn't need a matt black bonnet, GT badges or racing stripes" .

Enough said . . . . . .

Well at least somebody is trying to save it (I hope!), as it's currently got 6 bids on it. I quite like the black bonnet and boot myself, but not the exhaust!
