HS8 SU carbs - where?

#1 Post by iandollysprint » Tue Jul 25, 2006 12:58 pm

Looking to uprate my sprint with HS8 SU carbs. Anyone know where I can get a pair. Also would other HS8 carbs from Jaguar/Rovers be a direct fit?

I have already found someone to open up the manifold to accept the 2 inch HS8's. Any advice on fitting these would be appreciated.
HS8 SU carbs - where?

Dunno if this helps, when i bought my sprint, it has 2" HS8's. I've since found out by way of the tags on the float chambers, that they are from a Rover 2000 TC. PO told me they do fit the manifold with appropriate mounts, manifold was bored out to suit, head skimmed and flowed to suit carbs and fast road cam. Also only 'choked' on one of 'em (rear), he did'nt say if the needles and springs were standard or changed for the sprint, i havent bothered to look, cos fuel consumption is very good and it goes like stink Hope this helps a bit, one the guys who know what their talking about will put you on the right path though, i'm sure.
