Petrol Prices

Don't worry, Australians are also bitching about the price hike in petrol at present.<br>
<br>
Our prices vary depending on the day of the week by about 10-12c (5p) a litre. Current price is about $1.40/litre for high octance ULP, which is about 56p/litre. (Who wants me to post some petrol to the UK??????????????)

It's not all bad. Me and a colleague (who can remember that far back) have done some calculations and worked out that forty years ago you could buy 60 gallons of petrol on a weeks wages in our game. At current prices and wages you can buy 80 gallons. No consolation I know,<!--EZCODE EMOTICON START :rollin --><img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... s/roll.gif ALT=":rollin"><!--EZCODE EMOTICON END--> but interesting facts nonetheless.....

I'm getting a C90 Honda to deal with the spiralling cost of motoring(it'll be fun in winter<!--EZCODE EMOTICON START :rolleyes --><img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... s/eyes.gif ALT=":rolleyes"><!--EZCODE EMOTICON END--> ), I reckon a weeks commute will cost about £8 doing a projected 130MPG, I hope! It looks like the Dolly will just be getting one run a week at these prices.

Oh look, now that every muppet and his missus have gone out because of the merest thought of a shortage and whilst the price per litre is at the highest its ever and panic bought all the surplus the refineries had built up...they've magnaminously decided to lower the price!
