Shame its looking highly unlikely that we'll get the chance to test your race car, Marts, Phils, ALG1K's and my cars against each other on a track anytime in the near future.
Thanks for that Justyn. Couldn't find it myself. Looks a bit like a Sportage with the grill off of a Grand Cherokee.

Apparently the Warranties over their are pretty good and if you buy from a dealer, all repairs including serviceing are free. Bit like the Mini TLC warranty.

Thanks for the kind words everyone. It really is to make a fresh start. My business got into a bit of bother with the authorities a few years back (still not resolved), and I've just had enough of being treated like the head of some evil empire. If anyone has googled me then you would know what I'm talking about. I'll take my punishment when it comes but until then, I would like my family to be doing something we have wanted to do for a long time.

I am planning on racing before we go. Brands Hatch, Lydenn and Oulton. The Brands Hatch meeting is the one to come to (27th/28th May). Between now and then I'll be getting the exhaust and cam sorted. I want the car to be spot on next time I take it out.

Just read your post Graeme. I've got a big hole in July that could be filled with a track-day. Will yours be done by then?
Hey Scott,

Don't think about leaving the yellow car behind just yet. I see in the internet that the Kazakhs are to build a GP circuit in your soon to be home town:
Scott, mine is looking unlikely to be complete anytime soon due to financial reasons unless I can raise funds on ebay by selling more stock.
I'm open to sponsorship! contributors can have a drive of it when done!
Well, if that's the case. We will do a track-day and I'll treat you to being a paid up 2nd driver on my car. You can then have a seat of the pants comparison for when yours is complete.

Dave. Thanks for the link. Looks like my new career path might be an English speaking Ards Instructor. Better get some races under my belt and get qualified asap!
Graeme. No problem. I'll have a look at a few dates and see if Martin (or anyone else for that matter) wants to come along.

Alun. It would be great to see you if you did come over. The Nepalese views are more in the South (ALMATY). We were planning to go skiing there during the school christmas break. Its only a £50 flight from Astana. I know you are a Skier as well so if you fancied it, we could rent a sufficiently large lodge or regular Hotel rooms. We can pick the brains of the other teachers who have been there a little longer and get some decent recommendations. If anyone else was up for the trip then that would be great.

I found this album online for shots of Almaty Almaty ski stuff

We will need a car straight away unfortunately. 3000 miles would be one hell of a trip. God knows what visas you would have to get lined up beforehand!

August the 14th (The date we go) seems like a long way away but I bet it flies. So much to get done, so little time.
