Starting to sound a bit griefy. Home number and mobile I would assume? Some people would have gone away for the long bank holiday weekend like I did but I left the agent with clear instructions on how to get hold of me.
...stay with it Al; call their bluff. The agents only have one vested interest and have no emotion regarding any particular deal. They rely on the fact you do.

When they come back to you after the deadline you have set you start to take control...

Well, we have now lost the house.

The vender has withdrawn from the estate agents as I suspect he was as annoyed at them as me.

I obtained his number from a nieghbour and sent him a text but it would seem to me, he thinks I am as bad as the agents. Heaven only knows what the Agents have said to him.

My advice, never use Ealy's of Boston to sell or buy a house.

Incompetant etc!

The search continues....... <img src=

Oddly enough, just had a phone call from the vender himself. It seems my efforts to contact him have worked! <img src=

We will be sorting things in the AM......

You wait, if you buy the house direct, the agents will still try for their pound of flesh from him because you were 'introduced' to him by them in the first place!

Do you understand my slight tone of cynicism on this subject that you may have picked up on when we spoke?<img src=

Good luck with it Al. Just be careful about that 'introductory' element. EA's are gits but they will try and claim something if they find out. <img src=

Talk to the vendor and compare notes. If it's clear that the agent was acting on his own or lied to either one then they have broken the law. If they do try to kick off invite them to take you to court. You'd do rather nicely out of it and they will know it so it'll all be front. The agent is employed by the vendor and is contracted to act on his behalf and in his best interests. I'd love to see them stand in front of the beak and explain how f###ing up a done deal is in anyones best interest.
Been trying to get hold of the guy all day.

Bollox to it and the house, not worth the extensive phone calls I seem to be making. If someone wants to sell a house you would expect them to answer the phone.
