up to but NOT including an RS Turbo. I wouldnt take on one of those unless I was in the Sprint. I'd probably pass on an RS2000 too...
Our TR7 engined one is in many ways nicer to drive than our Sprint. It much less cammy, has instant lo down torque and is less tempermental when cold or in traffic. Its so good I'm going to do another and see if I'm just lucky with this one.
Never had any diff trouble...prop shaft u/j's occasionaly bit that's all...
Don't get me started on those RS2000's I'm still recovering from how much faster they were today........<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... s/wink.gif ALT=";)"> <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... s/wink.gif ALT=";)">

Smifter,I probabley wouldn't drive fast enough to induce any proper side-ways 'moments' anyway.Glossop to Drolysden (10 miles including the A57) how many speed cameras ?Try 10 (approx)<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /frown.gif ALT=":(">
There was a nice(ish) BRG Sprint for sale in Glossop last year, went to see it with a mate, think it sold eventually. John Pogson was selling it.

Sorry, useless information really.

Glossop to Cholmondeley Castle ( A49 near Whithcurch) can't be that far, why not come and have a chat to us on the club stand on Sunday. Should have a variety of cars to look at.
Might even force you to take a mag or two and a membership form away with you<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /happy.gif ALT=":D">
Going way back a few posts to your comment about getting messy at the twisties I have to say no - mine doesnt get messy - it handles very nicely - nice throttle controlled oversteer easily corrected with a bit of opposite however mine isnt exactly standard in the suspension department. A standard car tends to wallow and snap about all over the shop if you get it wrong.

BUT my car still cant quite compete with a RWD escort.

Panhard Rod conversion and shortened tie bars are next on my shopping list after I've got the power up a notch to hopefully get on a par.

Going back to transmissions have a look at the videos on my web site and you'll get an idea why the 1850 transmission and I didn't mix<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /laugh.gif ALT=":lol"> <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /laugh.gif ALT=":lol">

No need to apologise!! I just wouldnt want you to have false expectations about Dolomite handling!

From your comments I take it you've dabbled in RWD Escorts?

Okay, thanks.Actually my mechanical experience consists of 2 years college (NVQ level 2 not that its much use to me!) and 2 years,urm....uh....(hangs head in shame)kwik-fit.
My next car would be my first dabble, which is one of the reasons why I'm looking at older cars (no expensive and complicated fuel injection systems etc) plus I think modern cars all look a bit anonymous.A lowered, on period rims, bright yellow Dolomite (with noisy exhaust) would look great driving through Drolysden.'Specially if most people didn't know what it was! <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... tongue.gif ALT=":p">
