Last July I lost my virginity<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... rassed.gif ALT=":o"> , got my first Dolomite. An Inca Yellow Sprint. After spending the last 12 months prepping the body I have now started to work on the front suspension. Bugger of a job to remove<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... ns/mad.gif ALT=">:"> . The car is fitted with 175lb springs 25mm lowered, and Spax adjustable shocks. what would be the best setting for road use<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... ohwell.gif ALT=":"> . Also what bushes should I use<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... s/eyes.gif ALT=":rolleyes"> .

K&N's are these rubbish coz they suck hot air - or just rubbish?

As for bushes - the last Sprint I owned had the full TT set, now it seems you can get many more - poly bushes etc <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /smile.gif ALT=":)">

As for exhausts, again it used to be a choice between JanSpeed and TT - I went for JanSpeed on my Sprint and TT on a TR7 <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... s/roll.gif ALT=":rollin">

I've just bought another Sprint <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /happy.gif ALT=":D"> (last one was well over 10 years ago)

So a full set of polly bushes, a TT mild steel exhaust (if I can get one, SS ones still break <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... ns/eek.gif ALT=":eek"> ) a decent cam, a nice set of TT valves springs and caps and Weber Alpha <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /smile.gif ALT=":)">

The misses is going to murder me...
Hang on! K&Ns are not rubbish! <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... ohwell.gif ALT=":">

That is at least, not if you get the element that fits inside your air box.

I've got one and it's the dogs! <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... smokin.gif ALT=":smokin">

I agree that the twin stub K&N's are good for sucking in hot engine bay air and that's about all!

Regarding bushes, stay away from Nolathane in your trailing arms - from personal experience i can tell you that they are too hard and will cause your trailing arms to crack before they give!! <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... ns/eek.gif ALT=":eek">

Congrats on your excellent purchase BTW and welcome to the fray!
Alun, It's painful enough taking the skin of both my hands<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... ns/eek.gif ALT=":eek"> without having a third hand to worry about, suppose I could use it to scratch my head, as I think about how it all go's back together<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... ohwell.gif ALT=":"> . where the best place to obtain new ball joints, by that I mean the cheapest place to obtain ball joints<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /smile.gif ALT=":)">

There is a set on e-bay that seem to be at a reasonable price (ie less than certain well known companies that work on a 'family' thing...)

Ahhh - just had another look at them. Price is increasing. Bummer. Try Mick Dolphin and see if there's any New Old Stock - usually works out cheaper... Will have a look around!
The Club do them reasonably. Else as mentioned eBay has a regular sprinkling but "mattandbeck" always seem to bid to win!!

Don't forget to keep the old Units for Club core as these are no longer available, nor will they ever be available new again. Malc can get them reconned.
