Re: re buyin a dolly
Will. I know the previous owner personally. He obviously doesn't have any vested interest in its sale so I'm sure he could give you an honest appraisal. Private message me your tel number if you are interested and I will get Nick to give you a call.

I've driven the car myself and it certainly seemed fine. Needed a bit of bodywork more than mechanicals as I seem to remember.
Oi Jod & Alun!
Jod

People who talk on their mobiles whilst their engine is running shouldn't throw stones! Anyway, I think you might find that the camber of the road and the adverse weather conditions had something to do with it! I'm getting a Humby so make sure Blue Flame doesn't get in my way! <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /laugh.gif ALT=":lol">

Alun (or should I say Mr Susie?) I always have lots of ideas in my head; How the country should be run, how to bring about the introduction of castration for sex offenders and nasty men who slaughter and maim furry creatures etc. etc. As for the 'idea' in question, you realise it is a leap year this year don't you?????
Re: Buying a Dolly
Scott, ROTFLMAO when I read this! Hope Alun doesn't have a paddy though and that he hasn't been for his sense-of-humour bypass yet.<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... s/roll.gif ALT=":rollin">

Besides, Alun bought me a beautiful present for my birthday (in addition to the 1850HL Haynes Manual and dvds) which was in a box, was gold and round! You've guessed it.......................

..........................a part for my Dolly! Good job I'm rather fond of the young man.<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /smile.gif ALT=":)">
Re: Buying a Dolly
It isn't possible to have a sense of humour bypass and own as many dollies as he does. I'm thinking of asking him to find a particularly impossible item to locate for my car.

There aren't many people who have found the holy grail, a girlfriend who not only tolerates an irrational interest in cars but then wants one for herself! Finding an original extended gear lever with a brass overdrive switch should pose no problems!

<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /happy.gif ALT=":D">
Putting
a Sprint badge on your green 1850 would be an act of sacriledge that I cant see Alun being a party to at all...

arf arf...

So do tell what other dolly bits are gold?

And I worked out that Dollybird and Dollybird72 are both the same...

Go Susie....
And apparently the 1972 models are cheaper to own, something to do with qualifying as 'historic'!

Only joking Susie.<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... tongue.gif ALT=":b">
pRe: 72
I'm afraid the chancellor removed most of the tax free status of that even before the cars!

Anyway, not one, but two!

We don't even have the 1850 road legal yet and she's gone and won a Sprint too...good choice, original Magenta!

Err! sorry to pi55 on yer bonfire, as it were dollybird72, but it ain't a leap year this year (maybe Alun won't find out).

You don't want to rush into these things, I mean I've only been engaged for 17 or so years. You never know next year could be the one...but then again. <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... s/wink.gif ALT=";)">

The Colour Purple..........
class film. Purple is my favourite colour (well, lilac actually).

MadMart - Alun did tell me that it wasn't a leap year but I was hoping that everyone would play along and convince him that his calendar is wrong! It would have been such a jape as there is nothing better than a man with a look on his face like a rabbit caught in the headlights! Ha ha! <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /laugh.gif ALT=":lol">

Scott, I am not offended by the 'historic' comment. 1972 was a great year (must have been, I was born!) Like a fine wine/antique, I get better and more interesting with age, wiser too. As for everything else, there is always Barclaycard and a dodgy plastic surgeon down the Old Kent Road!

I had to buy the Magenta Sprint, why? To quote Alun "because it was there". The interior was spotless, nice and comfy and the mirror was placed perfectly for applying lipstick (whilst driving at 95mph on the motorway, 'holding' a can of coke between my thighs and eating chocolate with the other hand)!
