to the fold...

Well the current price looks a bargain. Look for rust everywhere but especially cills and bottom corner of screen pillar by the door shuts, boot floor under the spare wheel and tank and then the front chasiis rails that support the sub frame and lif the carpets.

Dont worry about the battery. It may just be the boot light staying on. If it hold charge for 3 days there isnt much wrong with it but a new one is less than 50 quid and readilly available.
...indeed.

I bought a new battery for KDU in March, £26 from express factors.

Has to be named 'tetley' that one really, darjeeling is a bit of a mouthful and doesn't taste too good.

Start price is a bargain, but reserve not met , try asking what his aspirations are when you go see it.

Learn in it by all means but do NOT take your test in it; if you do you will only be able to drive auto's.

Should always knock it into neutral at least at the lights Lewis...unless its a company car!

Not that it means much...but it is a Cat D, has a noisy box and a few nasty dings and looks like a reshell? Where's all the vinyl and black panels? Haven't seen an 1850 like that for a while <img src=
Doesn't do an autobox much harm being sat in D....was only if I was at lights or somesuch, wouldn't sit in D in traffic jams or car parks <img src=

Cat D repair is a Cat D write off. Which means it is allowed to be repaired & put back on the road. Probably "beyond economic repair"

hmm. . Im sure the reserve has been added recently - Ive stared at the page so many times but have only just noticed it! I'd have definately seen it if it was on there before!
Ive asked him to give me a rough idea of what it is - hope its not too much! otherwise Ill have to continue the search. . .
Well, Im going to see it tomorrow in Sileby. Thanks for the kind offers to help view it but I think Ill just rely on me blokes humble opinions, especially as im still waiting to find exactly where this guy lives!
Power steering Susie? That just makes you lazy, turning the wheel when the car isn't moving and wearing out your tyres!!

Personally I've always found the Sprint quite light in that department and they have fatter tyres than sebastian...

Yes Mr N but I'm only 5ft 3 and a half, 8 stone wringing wet and not a contender for Mrs Universe!

I *love* my car and don't want power steering - just pointing out that after driving modern cars, the steering on a Dolly can take a bit of getting used to - it's a doddle now.<img src=
Kirsty, I drove a 3 series BMW (just a couple of years old) when I passed my test. When I bought my own car (Vauxhall Nova Gem) it was like driving a Sherman Tank!<img src=

Try having the car moving, if only very slightly, BEFORE turning the steering wheel...even when parking!<img src=

Hi Susie,

I love the overdrive It makes Molly so much smoother and quieter when you are going above 35 mph. Also, I've done roughly a 100 miles since I brought her, and I reckon I've used roughly 3 gallons (sorry I can't work in litres!) of petrol. So I reckon she is doing about 35 mpg, which I reckon is good for a 1500 twin carb, especially as I've only really taken her on short trips so far, with virtually no motorway driving.

I've brought a very thin, velour type blanket (in brown) to put on the backseat to protect it from the sun. I know it doesn't look exactly great, but at £3.99 it's a hell of a lot cheaper than trying to source another back seat , especially as Molly's seats aren't torn or marked at all.

Molly is coming along nicely. She needs a set of rear shock absorbers, as one of them is leaking, plus a few other bits and bobs, but I am going to Beaulieu Autojumble this weekend, so I hope to come back with lots of goodies. <img src=

.... Best of Luck with finding a Dolly.

You do realise that the criteria for purchasing a Dolly is that you have to decide fairly quickly whether it is male or female, and you definately have to give it a name ...... <img src=

Like I said Mart, doesn't actually mean much that it's Cat D. Just always a bit off putting

What is it with the names

My car had always been called XYJ, I tend to just use the first three digits of the plate.

However, the new owner, half way down the M1 back home, announced to me that it's called "Gabriel" now! Got nothing against it, just always puzzles me!

For example, the new one is now called STM. How original <img src=
