tidy looking sprint

#16 Post by kvz2000 » Fri Jun 23, 2006 2:37 pm

Hi, the colour is BL Mimosa, and it is a good bit darker in real life, plenty of interesting suggestions about the colour but the fact is the camera photo and internet photo do not show the true colour.

Building nicely; does well for the perception of the marque, we need some more to change hands for proper money...will you let on what the reserve is?

Strange, the photo's look much more mimosa today, a T plate is far too late for that colour though unless it was late registered which is possible. What sort of range is the chassis number in? It would have to be pre VA18278 to be authentic mimosa...

Alan,
I couldn't agree more,I have been on this site many times asking why these cars are not worth more, I dont mind telling you that my reserve is 3200, a similar RS2000 (the car that members of this site hate) would sell for around 8000 or more, so surely 3200 is a fair price, as for my sprint I dont really know about the colour,it is mimosa but perhaps that was not its original colour, the vin No is va26177dlo, so what does that tell you,

cheers
Donald.

The chassis number confirms that it is too late to have Mimosa paint a standard, but as in my opinion Mimosa is by far superior to Inca and the job looks to have been well done...who cares?

What paint code is on the plate?

Hiya, just looking at the thread. No samgamgee you weren't the buyer of Gigi, no worries.

It was the partner of Sandy that actually bought the cars for him, but it was down to him to sort collection out, etc, etc. We all know the story so I wont repeat.

Cheers
Looking at the reg,it reminds me of a rusty Brooklands Green Sprint about 18 months ago on Ebay, with a VERY rusty eyebrow panel and iirc, the reg was very similar..

Err, sorry...actually, I beg to differ.

In September 1995 (and subsequently as the published lists were never delete updated) it was on the Club list as Brooklands Green Sprint owned by one Darren Hatfield, based in the north east of England. Of course, it may never have been rusty though...

However, as we have already determined it is not an original colour and the job has been seemingly well done...what does it matter? Not only is Mimosa superior to Inca, it absolutely whoops on green of any shade! It is not the first car to have a colour change and won't be the last.

Alan,

Your right again, just checked history, Darren Hatfield owned the car from 1994 - 2000,
Good try....

but still a bit short of your reserve.

Not many Sprints have made more money than this on Ebay...and its a bit far to come for a lot of buyers. Sandy Beach is a scottish guy I think, so that coukd explain his persistance.

Hope you get a deal....but if its that good then keep it.

I am happy with the car, just felt ready for a change, problem would be getting one is as good condition without spending a fortune,
