You got a bargain there Alun!

Terryman is Triumph Spares of Chelmsford. He often chops ups very savable cars and is fairly unpopular for it. This auction was a pleasure to see.
I think?

Whose bits are going in this then or is it going to be a compilation of all the cars sitting round the corner from you and the ones in boxes?

What colour are you going to have the shell painted? What colour haven't you got? Mimosa?
not Jonners!

Victor's shell is too good (despite needing some welding) to waste! Not having Victor's running gear either.

With all those Sprints Mr N has (including the minter), you don't think I'm going to let him get his hands on mine do you?????

Don't you have a Rustet Sprint that you wanted to donate the parts from to a good cause?
It's an early shell, I think Alun should have VA41 off me and put it back the way it should be. If anyone's got the early dash, bumpers, grab handles etc it needs its Alun.
My Mate in Essex picked this up for me after the auction and I fetched it yesterday/today with a stop off at Duxford on the way to see the war birds (12 spits, 3 hurricanes, 1 seafire, 1 ME109 and various P51s Corsairs etc all flying at once and individually )

Remarkably sound in all the wrong places; boot floor has been done, os chassis leg had a bit done to it; only a cursory glance so far but very pleased...and it has sundym glass )

Question is to do up the shell and move it on or resurrect something and see if I can leave you guys NO clues whatsoever

Julian - if you are thinking of letting VA41 go I would love to restore it - like Alun I have a fair few bits and pieces to choose from! Alun's buy looks tidy to me for the money.

The shell I just picked up is a very late 1850 originally; to much to do to make it an early one to stop you guys picking fault with it, not to mention the telltale in the boot gutter!

You are quite near Terryman aren't you hsdolly? Have you had much dealing with him?

Not for many years Alun - as you probably know he was a regular advertiser in the old SODIT days - probably been going for 25 years I'd say. The trouble with Dollys as you well know is that they are still far too cheap for what they are and hence for £100 or a lot less you can get a reasonable one - and while that's the case the intermediary will make his money because not many people have the space or time to break them. Personally I'd rather deal with the likes of a Terry who makes his living this way, than some of the more 'sneaky' breakers you see on e-bay.

Yes, about a month ago or so.
Pleased he didn't cut it up, so it was worth a gamble unseen.

hsdolly,
I'm giving serious though to moving it on. I've got a weeks holiday at the beginning of August. I'll be making a decision that week about a number of things, VA41 is high on the list.
Here's another car being broken, I assume, by Terryman. Car doesn't look half bad. Shame!

Julian,

Well am very interested as per a year or so ago, so if you do change your mind, I'm definitely in the market. Have sold VA83 now having rescued it about the same time as you got VA41 I think. Anyway, look forward to an update. If you wish to email me then you can get me at stu dot anderson at tiscali dot co dot uk
