I dunno. Strip out the back seats and it might fit. It would give a nice low-rider look to the car. <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /happy.gif ALT=":D">
I almost herniated myself lifting one of those heads once.

Im gonna ignore you on this one Kev <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... tongue.gif ALT=":b"> the mention of all that money put a downer on it <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /laugh.gif ALT=":lol">

Also my 1300 came with all these speakers fitted (not attatched to an amp) and the 1300s battery isnt as powerful as the 1850s... Im thinking about a 200 watt amp for the subs. My mate had a 1000 watt amp (must of been peak power or some other bull sh*t rateing!) for £130 and that powerd his twin 8" subs well enough. Ok overkill is what springs to mine! Ill have a potch this weekend see what I come up with <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /happy.gif ALT=":D">
what size speakers do you want to put in boxes on the front shelf? if you make them too small they wont produce the lower notes. boxes will be better than mounting them in the door if they are sealed, the correct volume and are pointing in the right direction

you wont be able to power all the speakers you intend to from a headunit, 60watts just isnt enough.

more speakers doesnt mean louder or better. one good subwoofer will probably sound better than 2 cheap ones.
i forgot to mention some cheap subs arent really subs at all, some of them have a frequency responce of 60-2000hz which is not sub bass. my subwoofer will only be playing up to 60hz where my midbass speakers will be taking over.
Almost....

#22 Post by 2F45T4U » Fri Sep 09, 2005 10:29 pm

...done except I didnt use my full brain to work out how much speaker wire I needed so I only bought half of what I needed, itll be done tommorrow....

One question, to wire up the subs can I just run a wire from the rear speaker terminal (also attatched to head unit) to the subs terminal, doin the same for both posi nd negative. Running the right sub off the right rear speaker and left from left... (as they are the closest speakers)
no...

#23 Post by Paul » Fri Sep 09, 2005 10:47 pm

im assuming the subs and rear speakers have an impedance of 4 ohms as this is most common for car speakers.

you will be making a parallel circuit with a two ohm resistance rather than 4 ohms, this means more current, so the amplifier in the cd player will overheat and will most likelyt be damaged.

dont bother with the subs until you have an amp.
they are called RCA's, i have no idea what that stands for, they have phono connections at each end to go from your cd player to the amp.

you will be better off getting a 4 channel amp to power some front speakers and a sub, or two. then power your rear speakers using your cd player.

this is very good value for money, good quality and plenty of power and a free wiring kit - <a href="http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/JBL-GTO75-4-4-cha ...

but i think you be better of getting something second hand some of the best quality amps fom around the mid to late nineties sell for peanuts compared to what they sold for when they were new, heres an example <a href="http://www.talkaudio.co.uk/exchange/sho ... and <a href="http://www.talkaudio.co.uk/exchange/sho ...

and some amplifier porn - <a href="http://www.talkaudio.co.uk/exchange/sho ...
#28 Post by 2F45T4U » Sat Sep 17, 2005 9:38 pm

If Id forgoten to drill a hole in my new wing and the aerial was all pluged in (but stuck beind 4 walls of metal) and I was still not receiving even a glimmer of radio signals, should i not worry? <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /laugh.gif ALT=":lol">

unless you want to listen to the radio.

Im going to need it for that MP3 thing you persuaded me to buy off ebay....

My car is a slug off the line, It takes over half a mile to catch a 1.1 206 (0-60 14.6) or a 1.3 02 plate fiesta. Or so Im told of course <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... tongue.gif ALT=":p"> <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /laugh.gif ALT=":lol">
