If you have some wire the 3 amp connectors for car hi fi speakers will fit the switch end - you may have to bend them a little to make sure they don't touch the inside of the knob.

You could always come to Stoneleigh and avoid temptation to use the overdrive......

I promise it wasn't me that used domestic electrical flex to wire the car up it was the owner previous to me; I got rid of a lot of it.

Is the radio still wired in with a 30m orange lawn mower cable?<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /laugh.gif ALT=":lol">

Is that what that was for? I wasn't even sure it was connected to the car. I disconnected the overdrive switch completely, and wrapped the connectors at the bottom of the stick with insulating tape so I don't get a shock.

Cable assembly for o/d

I have used normal domestic sheathed flexible two core cable on two of my cars as I consider that the sheath provides an additional layer of protection.

You quite often know that you have a problem when you start to get shocks as you switch O/D out. This is because the magnetic field associated with the solenoid induces a high voltage in the wires as it collapses.
