Why is it everytime I look at this topic it automatically starts up MSM?

Yeah it would need a full 2000-type tailgate to make it worthwhile. Looking at it again, I think I prefer the version with the saloon rear roofline actually. I haven't got a 2000 estate pic at the same angle as a Dolly to graft the proper rear on to it.

I keep getting MSM too Alan, glad it's not just my computer. Having said that, I wonder if it's summat to do with Photobucket.

Really good job. I do like the original pictures' rear roof line and C pillar though.
The slight notch back is nice too, reminds me of the Lancia Beta HPE.

It was called project sherpa! Apparently designed as a possible rival to the BMW 02 series sports touring estate thingy.
I quite like that although they copped out by using the same rear side windows so you end up with that big pillar. Perhaps with a slightly lowered roofline and taken up to Sprint or 1850 spec....

Good photoshop work, but...

I reckon there is a very good reason Triumph never made a Dolomite estate.
They look like hearses.
If you need more load space buy a trailer. The only really nice estate car I've seen is an Alfa 156 (and that's not a proper estate).
FUGLY! Have a word!!!! Lancia Beta HPE, Scimiter GTE and a MK2 Granada if you need more space than a Volvo in an ugly motor.
If you really have to go for a French car (I hate the French with a passion, no apologies!) the CX safari is not only better looking than its predecessor but you could fit a narrow boat in the boot with room for say, a Dutch barge!

I guess I'm in the Harris Mann school of automotive design, I would rather have a TR7 than one of them FUGLY French DS things.

David Bache got it right when he based the Rover P6 on the DS, all the ingenuity and novelty of design but wrapped in beautiful skin.

DS, innovative for it's time, certainly from an engineer's point of view but pretty? not a chance!

I will hold my head up with no helmet for protection on this one!
With you completely Al on the shitroen. If I ruled the world every DS but one would be rounded up and crushed. It'd take a while because I'd only inflict the task upon the clinically blind. The one survivor would be kept for technical curiosity in a windowless vault.

At a stroke the planet would on average be a much more beautiful place.
