Only just paid the architect to draw up some plans. I might substitute the plans for the loft and put a nice picture of the dolomite in there. Trouble is I think my wife would notice.<br>

I'm all excited as I might actually have a proper sponsor! A good friend of mine has just started working with a company that does 'mobile to your house crash repairs'. I jokingly said that I would stick their company name on my car in return for crash repairs. Anyway, he put it forward to his boss and they are really keen on having some representation within the series etc. <br>

Don't know what I might get in return, but one of those paddock marquee cover things has been mentioned with their details all over it. As they say, beggars can't be choosers, I'll take whatever I can get.<br>

Any help would be appreciated. I'm kind of hoping that there won't be too much mechanical woe as it will be about as fresh mechanically as when it left the factory. However, I'd be a fool to think that nothing is going to go wrong.<br>

I'm hoping that enough people from the club come to the different races to justify taking a barbeque. I'll get the barbeque and fuel there, just bring some drink, a fold down chair and whatever you want to cook and make a better day of it. If I do get one of these marquee things donated at least we will be able to shelter from the worst of any foul weather.<br>
<br>
I've also been told that this 'sponsorship' company has a corporate box at Brands and Silverstone which we may be able to make use of depending on numbers.<br>
<br>
Anybody else out there want to jump on the bandwagon? I need some basic insurance for the car (not whilst on track), some rudimentary tools like axle stands, trolley jack etc oh and a carcoon for the garage!!!!<br>

I went to see my baby today. Looks great in a fresh coat of mimosa. They have been busy spraying the inside smooth black as well. Just waiting for the new freshly designed for sprints polybush kits to arrive so that they can chuck the suspension and 'underbits' on. The AVO's are sitting in their boxes waiting to go on. Still in a quandry about brakes. Mark happened across a guy who was the girling guru with Triumph in the 70's. He could build my brakes to Group 1 spec for £1100. If I was building a full on replica I'd rob the nearest post office and go for it but I reckon I can get the same stopping power elsewhere for half that.<br>

Willwoods, Princess 4 pots, there might be someone with Hi Spec. I don't really know. Obviously some guys are on standard in the less modified classes. As you say, things have moved on. Apparently this guy built some up for somone in the CTCRC last year on a Sprint so I'm not sure if there regs are tighter on originality. Have to look into it as I want to try and keep the car eligible for their series if things don't work out with the TR boys.<br>

These are the confirmed dates. If they will let me, I'm going to try and do all of them (bar Spa). The Silverstone opener is the small infield course that they have which isn't supposed to be tremendously exciting. I should be doing the track day at Mallory as well. I think any TSSC/TRR members can get on it. You don't have to be a racer.<br>

Yes, its time for yet more bills. It certainly adds up. When you first think about going racing you (I mean 'I') immediately look at the cost of the things you don't have but need for your original car like Roll cage, seats, harnesses, extinguisher and the other safety items. You add all of this up and think its going to be a couple of grand! Wrong..............<br>
If you go into it thinking that you are effectively doing a nut and bolt restoration PLUS all the bits you don't have then you are going into it with your eyes more open than I did!<br>

Thats the same question she always asks on Property Ladder and the answer is always that people are overbudget by between 10 and 50%.<br>

Good to know that I'm not alone on miscalculations! To be honest, I didn't expect everything to end up being reconditioned. Diff was alright, gearbox worked fine (although I'm told it was a full on Triumph 2000 gearbox internally) overdrive worked great as well. Having said all that, I'm happy to pay the extra as having read through alot of the race reports for the TSSC and TR register online, you tend to read alot about various mechanical failures affecting at least 3 people per meeting. At least I should be able to go out having confidence that all my bits are fresh (hmmm, thinking about it, how well do nomex underpants breathe?)<br>

I reckon that I've still got between 3 anf 4k to finish it. I have the vast majority of parts now. Engine and brakes are the biggies to come. I'm going to make sure I get my moneys worth out of it!<br>
