1850 values
Talking values, have you seen how the various magazines have rather interesting values in their price pages????

Sprints up to £4500 for condition 'eat your food off'....

Then you look in the for sale pages and / or ebay and either they're all comedians with the starting prices or mean b<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... rassed.gif ALT=":o"> st<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... ns/mad.gif ALT=">:"> <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... ns/eek.gif ALT=":eek"> d<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /alien.gif ALT="0]"> with their bidding...

(Yellow Sprint in Kent on three times started at £1500 no bids, relisted reached £1125, reserve not met, then finally went on a buy it now for £1500) was also missing the elctrics for the temp sender ha ha ha)

Another yellow sprint currently started at £1700 with one bid..... still to see what happens (looks nice)

Scabby White Sprint wants £500 (!) to start no bids so far....
values and 1850's and insurance
"£595 phone Dave 01474703282/07769688649" as per an 1850 on the Club Triumph website classified (sorry for swearing)...

Simon, £130 for your magenta 16v (yes, I've seen your tag bidding against me on ebay...!!!<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... s/roll.gif ALT=":rollin"> ) is extremeeeely good for London. Norwich Union/CCUA rate your postcode as an "add 60% to the premium" for a non garaged Sprint in London <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... s/nerd.gif ALT="8o"> <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... s/nerd.gif ALT="8o"> <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... s/nerd.gif ALT="8o">

Did you go to Bromley? I've never been because of the traffic and, unfortunately, haven't been well for a while (diabetes playing up)

RLD got through the MOT - massive relief as it means I'm still mobile (and legal)!!! (and impressed with the car's desire to live<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /happy.gif ALT=":D"> )
Re: values and 1850's and insurance
Just out of interest. regarding silly money deals. Remember the sprint that sold at Buxton for £3300! The guy that bought it has a garage in Heywood near Rochdale. He advertised it the next week at £4295. I went to see it t'other day and it had sold. The guy buying apparently drove up from kent and paid cash.
So people out there are prepared to spend?
<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... ns/eek.gif ALT=":eek">
Re: Cool cars
In reply to Sidsprinter,it wasn't that band though it was from that era (it was The Nephilim actually, though I doubt many on here would have heard of them <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... ohwell.gif ALT=":"> ).AFAIK the chap still has a Dolly (at least he did do last year).
Re: Cool cars
I think there are still very view people prepared to pay top price for a minter. The market just isn't there.

In my experience most Dolomite owners are 'real' people who like to tinker and get bored when everything is fixed.

As opposed to MG's, VW's, TR's where there is an appeal to modern life professional people who want to forget about those nasty oily bits that get in the way of posing and impressing the secretary.

Not Sold
On my travels, I regularly pass through the village of Barford, just off J15 on the M40 by Stratford-Upon-Avon. There is a small garage there, has a Mallard Green 1850 on the N Plate, GGT a London Reg (Auto IIRC from when I stopped some 15 Months ago) for sale @ £1850ish. It has been on the lot for a long time now, think it will be at that price, it's 'nice' but not that nice. Dealer has had it in stock long time, can't have cost them much to have the dough tied up for so long, most dealers class anything that hasn't shifted in a month or so as 'shrapnell'

There's been an 1850 Auto in N. Russell brown (<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... s/roll.gif ALT=":rollin"> ) for a while now (if the Auto Trader site is accurate), near me.Asking 995. Maybe I'll offer 700 "to take it off his hands"

Sheds
Don't get lumbered.
have a look at a few, then go along with a club member in the know. before parting with cash. don't forget that the dealer is selling a £500 car plus his mark up. offering him £700 will probably still be netting him £200 over what he should be selling it for.

(cynical or what)

Yopu could do a lot worse than asking Jon or Alun Source you a car in Gimmer land? plus they know what they are looking at?

keep your options open.

Neil.

Plus there was a freeby going in stockport. Is the owner on the web?? are you out there??
