Guys,

Profuse apologies for not showing yesterday. I just had one of those days where the sand slips through the hour glass much too fast.

Went to fettle the 1300FWD Friday night only to find not one but two punctures.

The "new" 1500TC auto is now out of tax and test so that was ruled out.

Child number one had to be somewhere at 1.00pm and child number two picked up from somewhere else at 5.30pm. To cap it all, yours truly was due in West End of London in best bib and tucker for 40th birthday of (very) close mate at 7.00pm.

I simply could not manage it. Eventually I even missed most of the match, catching only part of the (crappy) second half.

Gutted.

Sorry one and all....

I was intending to be there in newly painted Spit. I left Gary in Somerset at about 10 pm on Friday evening. 2 miles later I had smoke pouring from o/s calliper. Gary got the flatbed and we hauled back to his gaff.
I unloaded the Spit on Saturday and the brakes were free. A few quick laps of the estate and some simulated staright emergency stops later it all seemd fine. I pulled the pads out and wiped off the melted grease form the tyre sidewall, put pads back and repeated the test.

Then I drove it home. Got back too late really at about 2 pm ish. Thought about it but thought that from previous years most would have gone home by the time I arrived at 3 ish, so just watched the footie.

New pads and seals and an Mot and the spit is up for grabs...probably by my daughter, but you can all ask...
"...how much for your daughter?"

Well, it had to be said! Which film, anyone, anyone?

Actually, there are now two car related films subtley quoted there. Prize for knowing them is the next post on this thread!
