Dear All

After a discussion today with Andy about being the joint Motorsport registrar The starting point I think has to be me compiling a list of club members or Dolly enthusiasts out there involved in motorsport.

This can include being a spectator, fan of motor racing in general, knowing somebody who competes or marshals or you may be competing in anything from Auto tests to Rallying or Racing - and not necessarily in a Dolomite (but it helps). Also if you know of a fellow member without internet access in a similar situation let me know.

I'd also like opinions/ideas on what the club should try and organise on the subject of motorsport. My initial thoughts are:-

Club trips to Pre74/post historic touring car races and race reports.

Possible driving/camping trips to major motorsport events eg F1, Le mans, WRC.

Private track hire events (in collaboration with other clubs).

Collaborations with specialist suppliers/manufacturers.

General Articles on set up, driving techniques, motorsport guidance for inclusion in Dolly Mixture.

As well as being a hoot, Motorsport is advertising, if we successfully promote motorsport as a club we can raise the profile of our cars to Joe Public and to parts suppliers and manufacturers.

Please drop me a line on gjs1234@hotmail.com with your details/suggestions or stick a post here.
