Keevil Track Day

Another great day on the track.

The day didn't start very well weather wise, but the rain did subside by mid morning & stayed dry for the rest of the day.

There was the usual mix of Elises, Tegs, Nobles & the like (and a strange V8 Toyota Starlet) but my car of the day was a Honda NSX, one of the last 12 to be produced.

Anyway, we don't want to know about those. My car went really well and was a fair bit improved with the new 4.1:1 diff. Last time out (with the std. diff.) I was hitting around the ton at the end of the 2 main straights, this time I was hitting 115-120, all indicated of course so I don't know the actual speeds as the diff. & lower profile tyre will put the speedo out by a fair amount I would assume.

Had a good tussle with an Alfa 155 V6, not much in it really until he overheated & was black flagged (he kept going round with steam pouring out from under the bonnet).

Just before going home I tried to start the car & it turned over very slowly. Had a look at the alternator conns. & found one of the leads had broken off & as I was trying to fix it, I broke another one off. I managed to crimp them back on but only just. Then, the first touch on the brake pedal revealed a familiar grinding noise. I managed to get the car home but needless to say I'll be needing a new set of discs & pads and a bit of re-wiring.

All in a days Track event.
