We all know that Graeme went from his little roller skate to the VRS recently, a real chalk and cheese change I think you would agree.<br>

Well, in a completely unintentional way, I've just fallen into ownership of a 1970 1300fwd. I collect on Monday and have only had a chance at a cursory viewing but it looks mint, has MOT and is obviously tax free.<br>
<br>
Now, we have been down a car whilst the Cerbera has its major service and engine rebuild and I've been having to walk everywhere. What a strange and horrible experience that is I can tell you!<br>
<br>
The quirky bit if you haven't guessed already. Now that we will have a 1300fwd as a runaround for the last few months that we are in this country, does anyone want our Cerbera. 13k or thereabouts should see you owning the most purple thing on the planet!<br>

I'll get pics of the 1300 as soon as I collect, but I am expecting it to win prizes. It really is that good. I've wanted one for years but it just never happened.<br>

Ebay really came up trumps for me, the VRS is totally straight and virtually unmarked, even the Skoda rally green paint on the brake calipers hasnt worn off from brake dust erosion! I've seen some very very silly speeds in it this week and its still averaging 30mpg!<br>

Justyn, I was going to use the bus analogy but you probably get that said to you every day! I think that just about every one that I have seen come up is in deepest Devon or Cornwall. I'm sure there was a secret Triumph Factory down there. This one is a very dark blue (Maybe wedgewood, can't quite remember.) It was a complete fluke that I came by it.<br>

Here's an idea. Buy one of those Triumph Pony gearboxes from Canley, bung a dolly axle on it to make it a 4x4, and take it to Kazakhstan with you...

With any luck, my marital difficulties will be behind me in the summer and I can get on with the serious business of turning my house into a rest home for elderly Triumph FWD saloons. Even though I have no idea where I will be living at that stage......<br>

Let me know the numbers and I'll see if it's already on my survivors list. If it's dark blue then it'll be either Royal Blue or the imaginatively named Dark Blue....<br>

the 1300fwds if seen on the bay have been in wales or north london. the on im looking at tomorrow (and more then likely buying) was described as wedgewood blue but seems alot lighter and the logbookstates grey.<br>

1300mash.. whats numbers do you need the reg is HWV 809E.<br>
i can get back with the chassis no ect on monday.<br>

The inside is just as nice as the outside. Drove it back and it was quite OK at 70mph. Needs a new battery. It's the single carb version and has done 69k miles with around the last 15 years worth of MOT's.<br>

Having just paid closer srutiny to the previous MOT's, it was MOT'd in Portland, Dorset in 1990. What was I saying about all 1300fwd's being down that way!! It had 61k miles at that point so it has covered a grand 8000 miles in the last 16 years! Also appears to have been in the the Oldbury and Bearwood areas of the West Mids during the mid to late 90's. Vin number is RD95865DL.<br>

The guy who owned it in the west mids (Harbourne area) was Miklos CSUKAS (from 1990 until 2002). Club member or known?<br>

Thanks Justyn. You would probably cry if I told you how much I paid for it so I won't! Tax free is tax free as far as I'm concerned although a really early one would be nicer.<br>
