driving up the M1 tonight on autopilot, like ya do, brain sort of going off on weird tangents that even baffle me sometimes, it occured to me that the car stereo sounds better in the dark

has anyone else noticed this bizarre phenomenon?

so me being me, i questioned it to myself, how is it possible that a car stereo could sound better in the dark? air colder, therefore more dense, therefore transmitting sound more effectively? dont think so, stereo should be pretty constant in fairly well sealed climate controlled environment like my mile munching lugooona.

couldnt think of a logical explanation so changed the question to 'why would I perceive that the stereo sounds better in the dark?'

drugs? nope.

only possible conclusion i came to is that in the dark with less to see, other senses sharpen up, so your brain puts more emphasis on the info it gains from places other than your eyes... this led me on to thinking why nightclubs/pubs/concerts etc are always dark, and it all sort of made sense.

that kept my mind occupied between junction 22 and 23 anyway.

does anyone else think about weird sh1t like this or is it just me?
