Just been given a brown Dolomite 1850 HL. 49k and rust free (at least it looks rust free) taxed and MOT'ed for 11 months. Recent service at Lex garages, new rear exhaust box. It drives well, in a straight line and brakes in a straight line. Nice gear box. Everything electrical works, even the radio. Nevertheless I would appreciate your best advice on what to check, look for, replace, adjust etc as I know all cars have their little foibles. I am an average mechanic unafraid of dirty fingernails.
Thanks Mike

Hi Mike
If the car has only just passed its MOT test then there's a good chance that there won't be much wrong with it! <img src=
http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /happy.gif ALT=":D"> The best thing you can do is get out there and enjoy the car.The more miles you do,the more you'll get used to the driving experience.Eventually you might notice the odd squeak or rattle, just as you would with any car - even modern ones.Service the car regularly, keep on top of any rust spots which may appear, but above all use the car <img src=

Thanks Andy
I think my student son has claimed the vehicle. Just can't believe that there is no rust anywhere underneath - just a fift pence sized hole at the bottom of the front nearside wheel arch.
Best regards
