Moving a non-runner

I've just bought a non-runner to do up and I need to get it home. I've had a few quotes off breakdown recovery people but they seem extortionate. I don't have a tow bar on my car. The car is in Portsmouth and I need to get it to Newbury. Any ideas?<br>
