Hiya I've been a admirer of Dollys ever since my Uncle had one in the 70's, and have always wanted one. I'm now in a position where I can buy one but haven't got a clue what I'm doing! I've never driven one, have no idea how to use overdrive, or what to look for when buying! <br>

I seen a 1973 CARMINE RED DOLOMITE SPRINT advertised in Triumph world for £2850,<br>

But it's in Dundee and I'm in Sheffield! <br>

Has anyone got any advice for me? Are there any Dolly specialists near Dundee that I could get to check it over for me?<br>

For that sort of money it should be pretty much perfect.<br>

Can you not pay for an AA inspection and go by their findings. It must be worth it if you are considering spending more than 2k.<br>

Driving one is dead easy. Overdrive is even easier than changing gear normally as you don't use the clutch. Get one, if you don't like it then it shouldn't be too difficult to sell on, especially in carmine.<br>

you sound a bit like myself zander....i know eff all about the running or maintenance of a dolomite but i am determined to get one

I would say A1 in terms of it being an everyday car rather than a concourse A1 car that gets trailered to shows to stop dirt getting in the tyre treads and mud under the wheel arches! Thise sorts of cars will be 5k+. It sounds like it was one of these cars in 1997.<br>

It should't need anything doing to it imminently for that sort of money. I wouldn't say its overpriced as long as it is A1. It might be worth asking the seller if they could copy or scan receipts for the work it has had done to it in the last 10 years. If they are serious about selling it then they won't mind (or at least I wouldn't if it was my car).<br>
