1300 fwd clutch

Anyone able to help?
Have 1300 fwd and trying to replace clutch. Trouble is, I can't budge the input shaft.
Have made up my own slide hammer, but pulling and sliding and belting it with a lump hammer still won't move the shaft.
What am I doing wrong?
At this rate it would be quicker annd easier to rebuild my A40 ...
It's a 68 on a G plate.
Bought it at start of year and got it MOT'd in June, having changed the battery, all manner of steering bits, front shocks, master cylinder etc, and done a bit of welding.
Since then have driven all of 100 miles, had dynamo pack up, and now clutch is slipping!
Thought it was an easy one to change, with no gearbox to remove, but the input shaft will not shift.
Any ideas?
Sometimes if the splines get worn the shaft might have become disengaged from the splines in the gear but it keeps going because it still wedged in there.
You might try to dislodge it this way by twisting it back and forth but its sounds bloody tight if the slide hammer won't shift it.

If this is the case you might be looking at replacing the shaft and gear. I dont think you can get the gear out from within the car unfortunately. I'll have to look at the factory manual.
Best not to put a new shaft in a worn gear. Steve Waldenberg is your man for supply, I think we have some sets left. Hopefully it won't be this bad though!

That was a great help. A couple of jiggles on the fan, same time as a slide on the slide hammer and it shot out.

Next, what is the grease that is supposed to be used on the splines and does it go on the driven plate splines as well as the input gear?

Lastly, there can I get the nylon bolt for the end of the shaft (to replace the steel one in my car)? Would a nylon number plate bolt be any good?

Sorry to be a pain. Really do appreciate the help.

Are clutch kits available?

Might need one for mine. Release bearing probably gone. No gears/drive and a rattly noise that disappears when you push the clutch pedal in.

BTW. I've got 5 1300 fwd gearboxes sitting on my trailer that need to go somewhere.
Yes, at a price.
Mick Dolphin has some kits, genuine BL/Unipart - he has a web site.
Canley Classics advertise them too.
I bought release bearing and friction plate on ebay, and pressure plate from Mick. I made up a slide hammer and 1/8" adjustment shim - now available to hire!!

Steve also carries the special grease (genuine BL) and he will send out a film canister full for a small fee, or probably for free with an input shaft. From memory this should be applied to the splines on the shaft only.

Do not even think about using anything other than the correct grease.

Sorry I didn't pick this up earlier but I have been on holiday (if you call taking 18 Scouts abroad a holiday!).
