I can try - Depends where exactly it is, as I've got about 2 quid for petrol till the end of the week (which is about enough to drive the 2000 out the carpark and back!).

Will message the seller and see...

Haven't heard back from the seller yet, but I'm happy to go take a poke round if it's close enough for my fuel light melting down level of petrol! (15mpg on a long run, far less round town is not funny...)

Not that I'm up on the slant 4s at all, or much of an expert on the cars in general, but I can have a poke around and report back as best I can...

The seller doesn't seem to interested in my messages, so it's looking like I'll be unable to let you know <img src=

Hmmm, just over 12 miles - Might not sound like a lot till you try driving a Nascar style Triumph 2000 (pulls to the left on the straights, hates turning right, does about 15mpg when taken steady... Doesn't attract rednecks though!)...

If there's definate interest I can try and make it, but it's not a journey I much fancy (and my pope impression might puzzle the seller somewhat, but trust me, any more than a couple of miles in the 2000 and *you'd* be that glad to be at your destination). Timewise I'm quite flexible, though I'm not a morning person!

I guess the most important thing is to save it from the breakers if at all possible.

Usual a frame rot by the looks of it. Doesn't look too bad otherwise. Ask him if he can take pictures of the chassis legs, subframe mounting points and front panel viewed from inside the engine bay. If they look half reasonable then it could be worth £500.
Dont worry about it silvery, its out of the price range of the breakers now and i only want it for the sake of having another one. i will spend my pennies at stoneleigh instead.
If you're absolutely sure? Like I say, not a journey I relish, but if you're definately interested in the car I could try and get there and back without throwing a rod/ cog/ driveshaft/ whatever else is knackered.... <img src=
Slowly going through the junk piles btw - Very slowly in fact, due in part to circumstance much beyond my control. Will give you a shout when I know what's what (and where).
