And the answer is some welding, which has now been done.

No, nothing else was said, except that it will probably be put in for a retest this week. I might have a punt myself, it's been awhile since I've had an old car leaking oil on my parent's driveway...<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... s/roll.gif ALT=":rollin">

Dave

If you want one that leaks oil on your parent's drive, I am sure Alun can arrange to tinker about with and sell you one of his 'spare' cars so that it leaks oil on purpose! <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /laugh.gif ALT=":lol">
Adam

Cheeky bu88er! I only have 2 Dollys and only 1 is roadworthy at the moment!

Besides, I need a black one to go with one of my outfits - bit like shoes and perfume as far as Dollys are concerned; you just can't have too many! <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /happy.gif ALT=":D">

PS Give you 50p for your car Adam if you can deliver it from Wales.<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... s/roll.gif ALT=":rollin"> <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... s/roll.gif ALT=":rollin"> <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... s/roll.gif ALT=":rollin">

(Just kidding Adam, you should hang onto it).
Id rather see it go out in a Dukes of Hazzard style jump than sell it for so little <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /happy.gif ALT=":D">
Er, I could probably give that a go too Adam!

I can't imagine parting with either of my Dollys; only adding to them.

If you sold your car I think you would regret it as you have worked really hard on it. Besides, you might get some money back from that insurance claim and you can use the money to put right whatever it is that needs doing.

What car does your Dad drive? Would he consider having yours while you were away? You could always insure it as not being in use - that should be fairly cheap?

I was only kidding about the 50p - honest. I guess I just wanted to see what Adam-baiting was all about!<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... s/roll.gif ALT=":rollin">

Dad drives a Toyota Carina E. A bland car but its done 160,000 miles and all he does is top the fluids up on it once a month. So he's in to 0 maintenance cars. They don't want it on there driveway and if it was insured as out of use it would need to be taxxed or garaged. I can't afford a years rent on a garage, well I can but in my eyes the cars not worth the £300 to store it. If I got £700 off this old biddy I'd..... Sell the 1850 and get a Sprint. Yer I've dished lots of money in to this car but it still won't perform like a Sprint.

You lot are considerably older than me but think back to when you were my age. Obviously you'd go for a faster car <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /laugh.gif ALT=":lol">

Email response from the seller of this one...

Hi

I took the Dolomite for a MOT today, she failed on some welding at the seatbelt
& rear suspension points (within 30cms of it apparently) other than that
she would have passed. Also I noticed her clutch slips a bit.

If you're still interested, let me know.

Thanks
