He's an idiot for flogging it, he's put so much work into it (and the odd drop of Smifter sweat too).

I know its not a Dolly but its a lot of car if I had the cash I'd still buy it. I reckon its cost him the wrong side of £15K to get it to this stage.
It started life 170bhp Pinto powered (I drove it with Pinto power at Keevil), then 180bhp Zetec powered with NOS before he moved on to Cosworth YB power.

It really is an amazing car and he's replaced it with a Fiesta! (albiet a rwd Cossie powered spaceframe rear end Fiesta )

I'm very surprised noone has used the buy it now option.

I wonder how much another 10K on the mortgage would cost me?

Rich has relisted with a lower reserve as the previous winning bidder wasn't 'genuine'- hmmmmm, I'll have to question him about that sometime.

Interesting current high bidder though! Seen that before somewhere!
Yeah, I'd love one of these...

But... V8 Dolomite Sprint - bit scruffy - no MoT - £700, or Cosworth MK1 Escort - very nice - no MoT - £10,000.

I know which one my bank palance prefers!

The lack of MOT is academic and just needs a few bits of wiring sorted out to make it pass. He never bothered as it was built for track days.

Its still a lot of car for the money - think of it as an Escort equivalent of ALG1K with a detuned engine. It has bugger all in common with a normal Mk1 apart from the shell!

Its sold now anyway (well almost, still has to be paid for and collected).
