Carb needles

Well, i sorted out me clutch problem - by removing the carpet and whilst tuning the car for its first run i noticed the following.

Car idles at 1000rpm, then speeds up to 1500rpm then slows down again ... all on its own. <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... ohwell.gif ALT=":">

I think this may be caused by a blocked needle/seat in one carb but i just wanted to see if anyone had any alternative thoeries (as i am all out of holy water and garlic...)

Relevant Specs:
-2x SUs with BBT needles, wound 9 flats down.
-1x leccy fuel pump 3-4psi, 2litres/min
-mild road cam
