Can anyone tell me what the voltage is on their temp sender when their (Sprint) motor is at "normal" operating temp?<br>

I've recently installed and EWP Controller and i'm being a bit paranoid about whether or not it is working.<br>
<br>
I've also noticed that the way the Controller controls is by stopping and staring the EWP, rather than altering the speed - can anyone with a similar setup confirm this?<br>

I'm sure the voltage is kept at a steady 10volts, by the voltage stabalizer. If in doubt get an electronic club one, they are far better.

I have the controller but it's always set to max. cooling and, as you say, it seems to stop & start the pump rather than altering the speed.<br>
<br>
Can't help with the VS as I'm using a capillary temp. gauge.

The temp sender worrks on resistance mate and the voltahe as said previous is or should be a constant 10 volts, this may be the reason your EWP controller does not vary but cuts out, you will need to check what voltage range it needs to work and check that against the voltage of the gauge. If you earth out the wire to the sender the gauge will go right of the scale but depending on what sender and its ohms and range will be very interesting to see if that is compatable with the EWP control<br>

Life down south is good, bit chilly, plenty busy, but good!<br>
<br>
Took the Sprint for its first run in two months last night to confirm that the cooling system was actually working.<br>
<br>
Started out cautiously just round the block, then went further afield. Kept a close eye on temp gauge and oil pressure gauge.<br>
<br>
Temp went to about a quarter whilst cruising uphill, then to half way between quarter and half when stopping, before coming back down. Oil pressure was between 50psi (cruising) to 35psi (warm idle).<br>
<br>
The EWP controller has it's own temp sender, i was just trying to work out the relative accuracy of the std sender. (I've got the excellent club VS installed)<br>

I think it would make sense that the voltage would vary as the resistance changes.<br>
<br>
The range of the controller is from 85 deg to 105 deg - so i want to verify this (i've got an infrared thermometer on the way to help)<br>
