I took off the rear drums today on the Sprint and found some oil on the face of both drums around the flat area where the studs go through. The back face of the drum had brake dust on it which was a bit sticky from oil contamination. Brake seals are fine so it looks like the shaft seals. I want to get it MOT'd asap so do you think i will get away with outer seals<br>
for now ?<br>
Also does anyone know the minimum specified thickness for a Sprint disc?<br>

If you're going to do those, you might as well do the axle tube ones too, they only take another 10 minutes to smash out and replace!

I am disappointed that no one has answered your question about minimum disc thickness but I am not surprised as I have locked in all the various documents that I have and can not find this specified.<br>

When you change your discs I will interested to hear if the inside surface of your discs has worn the full width of the brake pad. When I recently changed some I noticed that the inner 3/8 had not worn away as much as the outside of the disc. It looked just as if smaller pads had been fitted as some time. When I looked at another set of discs that I had previously taken off these also showed signs of the problem. I can’t explain why or how this has happened.<br>

I used all my books as well Richard and could find everything but thickness. I have yet to pull them apart but they are worn on the outside right to the outer edge with a visible lip near the hub. A rough measure was 325 in old money so i will get my book out tomorrow to convert from mm , thanks Sprint V8.<br>
