without damge, how is this done , (1300fwd)? i have the door off but can not see where its spot welded.<br>
i have to remove the wing to fit the inner which has been ordered.<br>

apparently you cant take them off without damage...iv been told to either chisle them off or use an air saw!! also the front headlight holder needs to be parted from the wing!! iv got 2 nos front wings waiting to be fitted to mine but i havent plucked up the courage to do it!! iv spoken to canley classic's about this...he said that if he was to do them he'd want £35 an hour and a whole day to do one side!! if i was to do them he'd recomend 2 days a side!! im only saying whats has been said to me so ill leave it up to you.<br>
the only other person i know on here with a 1300 fwd is bruce jones, hes done a complete resto with modifications on his and he might be able to help you some more!!<br>

I`m so glad the mies not rotten they do look a nightmare to take off. Mind you my car has had about three complete new front ends during it`s life after nearly being written off on a few occasions.

I know it's no help, but mine were bolted on when a previous owner replaced them first time around which made it very easy! <!--EZCODE EMOTICON START :b --><img src=http://www.ezboard.com/images/emoticons/tongue.gif ALT=":b"><!--EZCODE EMOTICON END--> You could see where they'd had to cut off the bit of front panel where the headlamp fits though. If this part is bad and you need a template I have a new front panel which I'm saving for a rainy day...<br>

By the way if anyone needs 1300 front wings I'm told Hadrain Panels still have some for around 40 quid each.

When we took KAC's front wings off, which are the same one's as it wears today, it was done like this...<br>
Remove headlamp mounting panel, and sidelight/indicator assembly.<br>
Clean up the top mounting channel, sill flange, and front edge with wire brush in angle grinder to locate spot welds. <br>
Drill out spot welds with spot weld drill. Leaves nice holes for plug welding back on!)<br>

There were no welds on the rear flange, ie A post joint.<br>
At the joint between the wing, and front panel, ie where the indicator is, the joint had been brazed, and this was heated with a torch to seperate it. Apparently this should have been welded. <br>
<br>
Then using a thin chisel/scraper, the joints were seperated, and we put the Kettle on!<br>
<br>
It took a couple of hours to do, and to be fair, when it came to re-fitting, having fitted new inner wings, it took a long time to get the alignment correct, but it is worth it in the end.<br>

I agree, perfectly possible to remove and refit an old panel with care. If I recal there are a few tack welds along the rear seam of the wing . You wull notice the door end, mor or less in the middle of what looks like one panel - one part belongs to the a-post - a light chisel after a careful grind

mine are welded on being the original.<br>
the adrian wings are fbreglass ones.(i might be tempted)<br>
