My windscreen wipers packed up today during a really heavy down pour - just as well I'd Rain X'ed the screen. First they went very slowly and then nothing at all. The wiring is okay and there are no blown fuses - am I looking at a new motor?
Any one tried to access it before?, it looks pretty tricky to me.
Any advice much appreciated.
Alex.

hi, before you remove anything get your multimeter and check there is voltage at the connector to the motor and check there is a good earth. if you havent got a muilimeter than you REALY need to buy one running cars like these (you can get hold of one for about a fiver that will be ok for .this type of thing). if you have got voltage than yes it will be the motor, there not too bad to do, i found it helps if you remove the dash. hope this helps, luke

Easy enough to get at with the dash in place

I have done this a number of times without removing the dash but it helps if you have someone to help hold the motor when it comes to replacement. It can be done on your own but its a bit of a game.
A trick I have used is to use super glue to fix the rubber mounts to the washers so they do not move about when you are refitting the unit back into the car.

... for the advice chaps. I'll do the checks and report progress. Considering that the car had been off the road since 1997 until recently, the odd electrical glitch isn't too bad.
