Nipples (wiring loom component suppliers)

In case anyone needs 'em I've just spotted that Vehicle Wiring Products have the cable ends that appear in various places on our cars. About 2/3 down the page.

I was searching their site for Ripaults connector shells, the ones used on all but the earliest of the range. Here's what they look like. I couldn't find them because they are now obsolete, disconbloodytinued by the manufacturer.

I spoke to Ripca and confirmed it, they are no longer being made and they no longer have the dies and pressings - fan-f###ing-tastic.

So everyone who breaks a car KEEP the wiring loom even if it is scrap, I predict in ten or so years time the value of 2nd hand shells will start to rise.

I hope I'm wrong, I hope they don't have the dies and press tools any more because someone else thinks like me and has them safely stored away for when the market is ripe. But just in case lets all get squirreling.

Thankfully, and very unusually for me, I found this out before I binned the completely useless loom out of my spitfire.

BTW, VWP still have them in 3 way only, Ripca still have them is a variety of sizes not used on Triumphs.
