Timing the 'head
Posted: Sat Jun 18, 2005 11:18 am
Well, I've got the head back having had it skimmed and pressure tested etc..., I have refitted it and torqued it up but want to be ultra sure that the timing is right before proceeding. It was set up by the shop the same as when removed with the timing marks parallel but I'm not sure if the position of the cylinders has remained the same (when I was accesing the sprocket bolts). Is there a certain default position in which the grove on the pulley should be? - I presume 0 degrees is TDC, I really don't undertsand this very well. Any help gratefully recieved, I'd be vexed if the pistons crashed into the valves through my incompetence<!--EZCODE EMOTICON START >D --><img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... s/grin.gif ALT=" >D"><!--EZCODE EMOTICON END--> <br>
