After measuring the shims on the sprint head and calculating the new sizes needed I'm now stuck as to where to buy new shims, Rimmers does up to 0.130 in and I need a few averaging 0.170 in, does anyone know where to get thicker shims.

when enquiring on a reprofiled cam i was told i would need to source larger shims , i was also told that there is a chance that these larger shims can " jump out".<br>
is there any truth in this , if so is it a rare occurence and would this mean much damage.

No chance of falling out what so ever. I'm running massive shims, SD1 shims on my everyday car, no problems

I'm running a reprofiled STR91 cam on my track Sprint & my shims range between 0.165" - 0.202" thick (bought from Sprintparts), never had any come out yet!
