Heritage Certificate

My Sprint is a 1980 model and I wanted to get a Heritage certificate but they didn't have the build records. I assume they were on strike at the time and just forgot or used it in their brazier but does anyone know of where I might be able to find out more about my car?

I assume if BMIHT haven't got the info no-one has but maybe someone will prove me wrong
