Re: Red Sprint

it looks pretty good but there are a few odd niggles on it that you wouldn't expect for that price.

Re: 1976 sprint rustoration

Thank you! Yes, I was expecting to have to do a bit of fettling but wasn't expecting it to be so far out of alignment. That's good to hear about the sills and boot floor as I'll be needing those as well. I don't think there's any area of the car that doesn't need rust repairs.
Well I'll crack on ...

Re: New toy to play with

Derived from certainly but much improved. The bottom end was substantially beefed up to address the known weaknesses of the OHV engine. Cylinder head very much follows the Sprint layout in concept but with only two valves per cylinder. Allegedly the 2.6 was under carburettored so as not to ...

Pre-producion Sprint?!

This made me laugh. A pre-production Sprint with chassis number VA28.

Re: Fuel inlet pipe : an odd pipe union.

It looks almost like a petrol return pipe, for when fuel injection is fitted.

You need to speak to Jon Jackson, AKA Trackerjack on here. He developed the conversion using these discs.

Re: Sprint & TR3b Gearbox Input Shafts

I know Rob MacGregor was making up a hybrid Sprint gearbox using TR4 parts, IIRC. Might be worth speaking to him about it.

Re: Why has this not sold?

This car is for sale at a garage not far from me. I have driven past it a few times but I have always been in a hurry with work and not had time to stop and take a look at it. It was originally for sale for about £10,000, and has been on the market for ages now, so I suspect that it has gone stale ...

Ah! Well, I didn't know that they changed them for the last couple of years of production. I've only ever seen them with HS2s.

Re: 1975 1500TC - Rich running

The 1500 TC had HS2 carbs, the HS4s were fitted to the 1500 Dolomites.
