Re: Ever helpful Copart!

What a shame, looks like it was t-boned hard.

Re: Sprint/1850 Water Pump Bypass Tube

Today I learnt two things, that Fitchett's are on eBay (duly purchased) and that there was a different bypass tube without the separate O rings! On looking my old tube was clearly the moulded type as well.

Thanks for the suggestions and the offer Alun.

Sprint/1850 Water Pump Bypass Tube

Rimmers are out of stock with a floating availability date, so thought I'd ask here (and on FB) if anyone has a NOS one lying around that they would part with?

Re: Clutch Shudder = severe car shudder

Not useful to you, but I fixed my problem by moving to Shetland, as it only happened in warm weather with a hot car. Since this post I've also changed all the axle bushes and the centre prop, but not been "Sooth" with the car since.

Re: SuperPro anti roll bar bushes

That's not the only thing that gives up when using hard Super Pro bushes, so does your suspension due to metal fatigue. I've never had a problem ordering off the Chris Witor website myself and can only echo Justin's words.

Re: Converting to Electric Water Pump?

I did the conversion a few months back, all's well so far.

I've started an article on the wiki giving the pros and cons and the key points of the conversion.

Just started to look at this topic and followed the above link but it doesn't ...

Re: RMR - 1974 Dolomite Sprint

These cars are treasured vehicles now and aren't (at least shouldn't!) be outside in all weathers. So if I can sufficiently protect these, I should be able to prolong the life of them.

Ah, so I shouldn't use my Sprint as a daily driver* doing 6k miles a year kept outside in all weathers? I ...

Going to say the same as Steve. Take a look at the H shaped shim (shoe?) far bottom right.

If you're asking about works rally cars did you forget CKV 2K? Mind you, that might have an X not VA commision number...

Re: Any idea what this is off?

I realised after I posted I was probably stating the obvious by saying it was a WASO. My Mini Clubman had one just like that, but hey, that was 34 years ago, "just like that" could mean anything!

Re: Any idea what this is off?

No picture of the top but it looks like a BMC WASO brand Pentagon petrol cap to me.

Edit: Thinking about it, they were on Volvo's as well... You're going to have a job identifying the car range it fitted by picture, they all look the same!
