Re: Market Value

Hi Mike I used to use photo bucket too. I don’t like post image, it’s a bit rubbish to be honest.

Try https://imgbb.com/ it works exactly like photobucket - without the annoying emails trying to get some money out of you. Just upload your images to the free site, and copy and paste the link into ...

Amazing dedication to the cause as usual Murdo- great work!

I also enjoyed the extra bit of history on the garage find. Excellent stuff.

All the best, Bish.

Re: JGJ - 1975 Dolomite Sprint

Really lovely standard of work as usual James.

Do you offer your services professionally? My car will need some surgery at some point and I’m looking for someone I can trust to do the right thing.

All the best, Bish.

Re: LLU the Mimosa Sprint

Tinkering update; I’ve finished the timing chain, so fresh coolant and Valvoline VR1went in when everything was put back to make LLU oil and water tight.

Fitted a club supplied starter motor because the old one had an intermittent fault.

Re: Market Value

Well done to you Mike!

It looks like a really lovely car from here. I thought you did ok on the price too. Glad to hear the car will be loved and used. I hope you get a decent summer up there so that you can really get out there and enjoy driving it.

Any chance of some photos?

Carbs on eBay Scam

Hello all

Dolomite Sprint HS6 twin carbs on eBay. Sorry can’t post a link but the eBay number is 316177389792.

Must be a scam. The same listing has popped up over the last few weeks. Don’t send any money unless you are sure the listing is legit!

Cheers, Bish.

Re: Club Track Days 2025

I would love to do a track day but my car is in several pieces at the moment with no guarantee of it being back on the road by then.🙄

Being realistic about the situation, it would probably have to be later in the year, or even next year, for me. I hope you get enough interest this year to make it ...

Re: LLU the Mimosa Sprint

Hello Dave.

I guess I could have drilled a hole but being a Rolon made one I just thought I’d change it. Like I say it’s probably overkill and there’s nothing wrong with the Rolon tensioner, but it had got in my head!

Thanks for the offer of the carpet. More food for thought.

Re: LLU the Mimosa Sprint

So, the Wimmerman chain turned up this week.

I made up a hybrid tensioner with parts from the both that I have, using the Renold body and skipper pad, and Rolon ratchet and spring. I like the fact that the Renold body and slipper has an oilway. The slipper is ever so slightly grooved from its time ...

Re: LLU the Mimosa Sprint

Ooh nice work on the seats. I’m not on Facebook, but think that I should be if I’m going to find any decent parts these days!? If you hear of any really nice black carpet please give me a shout.

Also, do you have a reliable paint shop that you use in the Kent area? Im in no rush but ...

Re: LLU the Mimosa Sprint

Hello Richard.

Tango is a lovely car and I’m glad to hear you’re keeping it! I think that you’ve hit the sweet spot - a proper tidy car but not something that you are afraid to put some miles on.

I’ve had a few classic cars and vans over the years and have come to the conclusion that the Sprint ...

Oil pump cover screws

Hello good people.

I’ve had a bit of a moment and lost the two screws to the oil pump cover for my Sprint. Can anyone help with replacements please. Happy to buy a dead pump if need be. The screws in question are number 3 in the pics.

Cheers, Bish.

Re: LLU the Mimosa Sprint

I’ve started the spannering by getting the car as high in the air as I can and having a good look at the task at hand.

I obviously found that there’s lots to do! But, the car is amazingly solid underneath. I can’t find any previous weld repairs. LLU still has original cills, jacking points, and un ...
