Re: Rolling road recommendations please

There is a bit on his website called Clients & Costs.
https://www.aireytuning.com/#ourclients

It quotes "For 2 Twin Chock Carbs, 4 cyl £480 + Parts No Vat" and he treats SUs the same.

Wow. That's a lot more than Peter Burgess charged me for a day on his RR tuning the twin SUs on my Spitfire!

Re: Club triumph RBRR 2025

It looked like for non-car reasons I couldn't enter this time, but I managed to find a way - so we are in! Not in a Dolomite this time, just me and Si in the Spitfire as per 2023.

Re: JGJ - 1975 Dolomite Sprint

I find the return springs and linkages on twin SUs a pain when re-assembling - looking nice though!
As you say, polishing is pointless. Whoever "restored" my Spitfire and showed it at concourse events had PAINTED things like the dashpots and alternator metalwork in silver. Yuck.

This my set up. A Weber manifold with a set of Aliexpress DCOE ITB's.
That's really nice and neat!

Re: Fuel Injecting the Sprint

Late to the party. I injected a tr7 with speeduino based system . I used the tr7 manifold and made a plenum with single body throttle body. Keep it simple.
The car was night and day difference against carbs. Very noticeable on club runs. It ran 137 bhp on a dyno nothing else much done.
I am now ...

Interesting, I'm not aware of one as-described in the area. I'll ask at the next Bridlington classic car club meeting.

+1 for H&H, they did my 1500 dizzy for my "fast road spec" engine. According to the tuner at the rolling road they got the ignition curves pretty much spot on for the engine.

Re: Market Value

If all the pundits are right (not sure they are) and the bottom is, or is about to, fall out of the classic car market then a few buyers are gonna be very upset.

I think there are 2 factors at play here,
1) Current economic climate - fewer people with significant cash to invest in "hobby ...

Did the head for 180 rather than the 900 AGRA in Dundee wanted!

900?! That's outright attempted robbery. I got my 1500 head ported, flowed and rebuilt with hardened seats for half that a few years ago!

Already have ARP head bolts so might see what the do for the big ends ect.

Cool! I ...

Re: 1500TC - Engine rebuild hints

Plan is just blow it apart, check for damage / ware ect and replace as required.
Measure the bore hopefully only need to replace the rings etc and not go for an overbore.

Yeah... been down that rabbit hole... and ended up with the engine in the photo above and an empty bank account! ;-)

I went a bit "over the top" with my build back in late 2019/early 2020.

Re: 1500TC - Engine rebuild hints

Hi All

I think this winter it is time to rebuild my 1500TC engine as the bottom end is not getting any more quite!

Seems simple enough and have done a few different engines in the past but wondering if there is any hints / upgrades to do while I am at it. The head is already been upgraded and ...

Great when you find something, a bit worrying when what you buy is the last stock.
