Re: 1500SE wheels

I have 2 spare SE wheels and was planning to use one for the spare on my own SE. They do seem to be different and I’m wondering if one is a spitfire wheel - would anyone have the original part numbers so I can check which is which?

Thanks

Re: 1500TC head replacement - Cost?

I used Head Technique in Telford on a recommendation from Carledo for my 1500 SE about 18 months ago. It was around £250 from memory for test and then setting up for unleaded. I did have to drop off / collect but I'm assuming a courier wouldn't be that much....?

NEC classic motor show - 8-10 November

Hello all

The club is looking for volunteers for the club stand at the forthcoming show at the NEC. Both offers of cars for the stand and volunteers to help staff the stand would be much welcomed.

There will be some free tickets available for volunteers but we are waiting to confirm the exact ...

1300 exhaust rear section - bore size?

Hi all

I recently purchased a second-hand NOS rear exhaust section thinking it was for a 1500. However, it seems to be slightly smaller bore than my old exhaust. Does anyone have the dimensions so I can check - and then possibly offer it to any 1300 owners?

MOT passed - with thanks to the forum

Hi all

After a couple of months of recommissioning, my SE passed it's MOT yesterday!

This is my first Dolomite after an MGB and a Series Land Rover and having purchased the car through the forum on new years eve (and being able to see some of it's history from previous posts) as a project car from ...

Slight creak at one part of steering wheel arc

Hi

I may not be describing this very well but having had my SE on axle stands as part of the recommissioning and been turning the steering wheel between each extreme, I seem to have a creak at 1 part of the turning circle.

I've watched the various joints and can't see anything catching or that ...

which tyres for SE wheels?

Hi

I'm likely to need to replace the tyres on my SE shortly. It doesn't seem to be listed in the version of the workshop manual I have and is currently running 165\80R13 T all round. Is this the correct size?

Thanks

Carb return spring

Hi all

On my 1500 SE, I have a spring dangling loose between the 2 carbs. I've looked through the parts manuals and think this should be attached to a plate linked to one of the bolts connecting the manifold and down pipe. Does anyone have pictures for this as it doesn't seem to be on my car? (and ...

Re: Head Removal - Help Please

I've fitted most of the engine and ancillaries back together now but can't seem to see the block drain that was mentioned (or at least what I was expecting). Is this usually a tap or a brass or similar plug?

Thanks

1500 engine bay photos

Hi all

I'm just putting everything back together on the SE I purchased where the engine, carbs etc was part-dismantled. Does anyone have any close up photos of the area around the carbs and associated pipework that they could share?

I've looked at the manuals, parts books and also some photos I've ...

Cheers Steve, will do.

Thanks also for the recommendation of Head Technique - picked it up yesterday but looks so good to put the rest of the car to shame!

Re: Head Removal - Help Please

I recently purchased this car from Richard and am working through this job (helped by the replies above). Having got the head off and had it cleaned etc, I'm unsure as to whether I should buy new studs, washers, nuts for the block and head or just cleaning the originals should be fine?

Thanks ...
