Re: Ziebart Treatment, a poll.
My 1980 Dolly 1300 was - in some areas underneath the ziebart was like new! in others not so much, though probably where it cracked and let mud/water in. My 1973 Toledo was not. My dad's marina is as well - again, some areas spotless, others where it cracked and let water in not so much. Though sayi...

Re: Honeysuckle 2-door toledo - NBP
Not much of an update technically - put some 165/80/13s on the sprint wheels. car feels much better to drive now. unfortunately when putting the wheels back on i managed to snap a stud on the rear hub! it came off in the nut, but i managed to get it out by drilling then using one an easy-out. https:...

Re: Alignment settings for road use
Just reporting back in. Got the car tracked today. Some strange(?) things happened, but the car drives much better now. Here's the before/after - as you can see castor was way out at 4.5 degrees. We have adjusted this as much as we can, but it's still not quite within spec. Either way a 1 degree dif...

Re: Alignment settings for road use
Lowering affects camber more than castor and castor issues are more than likely the cause of your heavy and unresponsive steering. Since castor is not normally adjustable on these cars, the factory values should give you a good starting point. My factory shop manual gives the castor angle as 2.25 d...

Alignment settings for road use
Hi all, I need to get my Toledo aligned. It has adjustable front tie bars so castor can be adjusted, as well as tracking. camber is (still) fixed other than using the shims(?) but i haven't done this. the problem is my steering is quite heavy at speed at the moment presumably because of the castor c...

Re: WTD: Speedo needle or whole speedo
Think my gauge cluster (see https://forum.triumphdolomite.co.uk/vie ... hp?t=38596) has a Speedo if you wanted the whole cluster for spares!
Cheers

1500HL(?) Freebies
Hi all, got some bits I probably won't use for my Toledo that I'm offering for freebies. Would be ideal if they could all go together really! I have a: Single rail gearbox (or at least most of one, useful for spares?) curved dash with most gauges attached NOS(?) airbox for twin carbs front engine pl...

Re: Evapo-Rust
I've been using this for the last year or so, really good stuff but expensive. I paid £17-18 for a litre. I needed some more as mine has now lost its umph. I found that Toolstation has an offer on £37.48 for 5 litres plus free delivery. Bought some yesterday & delivered today. :D Just a heads-u...

Re: Honeysuckle 2-door toledo - NBP
OK - have been out for a drive since. The car feels better in terms of suspension, though steering is still somewhat vague especially in the centre. I haven't tracked the car yet so maybe that'll help, but it looks roughly right (as before) by eye. I did mark on the track rods when replacing the end...

Re: Honeysuckle 2-door toledo - NBP
Very brief update as the car is back together for now. I decided to not do the "upper" half of the front suspension as the upper ball joints were fine and the wishbone bushes, although I have new ones to go on, seemed OK for now. Perhaps this is lazy, but I just want to try out the new bal...

Re: Another Nissan turbo project.
sorry, slightly off topic but just curious as I used to own a 180sx - are you going to fit the CA with an oil drain kit? (from head back to sump) - used to be a bit of a must-have when I had a CA in mine. (actually I had two while owning it, an early 8-port JDM model and a 4 port one too!)

Re: Triple rail linkage bushes
ebay - I won't name the seller but i'm guessing the rubber wasn't really hard enough (at least for the and that's why it flexes causing play... though i still wonder if it'd really be that bad with a solid bush...? For this bit: https://i.postimg.cc/DWL8Bx7m/spitfireiii-plate-n.jpg Either way will g...

Triple rail linkage bushes
Hi all, I recently replaced the bushes in my Toledo's triple rail gearbox shifter linkage mechanism as it was feeling like a wooden spoon in a bowl of porridge to change gears. I replaced the rubber bushes (which had deteriorated somewhat) with new ones, but I'm still not happy with the play in the ...

Re: Canine Friends
You can get restraints that plug into a seat belt buckle so all you would need is one of those then whip the seat out, fit a buckle to one of the mounts and you're done. 10 minute job if you don't want full belts in the back. Cheers both - that's what I was thinking. I guess having a buckle but no ...
