Re: Triumph 1500TC Crankshaft Nut

I've got one that I cut down to fit on the end of a gun for a scrap engine whilst still in chassis. Works either way though with 3/4 to 1/2" adapter. As I don't have the car anymore, I'm happy to post it to you.

Re: New member looking for parts

I've got a new and unused front subframe in South Devon. Painted in 2k gloss black and waxoyled inside. I never got around to changing before I sold my car. Pm me if you want it. I'll throw in some spare suspension components too.

Re: 44d4 vacuum unit

Keep hold of them. They're no use to me anymore, without a dolly. People on this forum have been so very helpful to me, it's just the start of my unloading parts.

Re: Plating on Triumph parts.

Yes, yellow dye after zinc plating. I had mixed results but eventually replated the SU parts. I bought a plating kit from just down the road from me, in South Devon.

Unfortunately I have a criminal record (mental health issues) from 4 years ago and my insurance jumped from £88 with Peter James to £636 with Adrian Flux!

Re: White smoke mystery

White smoke tends to be steam. If you have an expansion bottle it might, due to the heat and built up pressure, relieved itself of a small amount of water directly onto the exhaust manifold . It doesn't take much to create an impressive display. It may not appear to have lost anything. Graham I'd b...

As stevie says, fit one of these and wire in the four speakers, no need for an amp etc or big fat cables.

Re: door mirrors

They usually "pit" by themselves after a few years!😁 Not a big job to fit, just put some primer or hammerite in the holes after drilling them else they'll eventually rust.

Re: Tyres

Doesn't the Tolly have 4.5J rims? Aren't 175s going to be a bit wide for them? I'm about to put hand in pocket for some Dunlop Street Response 2s (155 80 R13 79T) which should come in at under £50 each fitted. I have these all round and they're smashing tyres. I was so happy with the fronts that I ...

Re: Fuel vapourisation remedies

Look on page 19 of this month's magazine. I did a similar thing with aluminium as it dissipates heat quicker. I riveted a small bit of angle onto the flat bit that folds underneath my HIF38s, then a expansion spring and it's perfect. I can't post photos here but I'll put some on Fb.

Cheap Chinese distributor? £23 ignition unit? Before I go on about my loathing for them, how was it running beforehand? What engine are you working with?

Re: Balancing and Machining Recommendation

Have you heard of Ratt Racing in Torquay? He gets all his balancing done by his mentor including lots of A series stuff. The chapter that does it is called Dave Phillips from Philspeed Engineering in Kingskerswell. As another suggestion he doesn't have a recent website and the one he does have has o...

I have a civic radiator fitted and I'm just down the road in Newton Abbot. I can't upload pictures here but can to an email or Whatsapp.
