Re: 1976 1850

It's definitely a bit of a odd set up, these are the only either photos I've got of it?

Re: 1976 1850

The only rust on the entire car that I can find is the drivers chassis leg, some wally, who's name I forget... put the car on axle stands when he took the wheels off to paint them and stupidly placed the axle stands under the chassis leg and it started to crush as the car was lowered :roll ...

Re: 1976 1850

I did wonder as I applied for a heritage certificate and there was no mention of any of the options on there?.

Re: 1976 1850

Since buying it I've serviced the car, tuned the carbs so it runs much nicer and replaced the rubbers carbs mounts with the clubs alloys ones as the original ones had perished, flatted and polished the paintwork as the Pimento red had gone dull and flat and repainted the wheels although i still need ...

1976 1850

Hi, I thought I'd just share a few photos of my current Dolly, I've had a 1500 SE that i done up in 2015 and a couple of years back i bought a Sprint but it was a bit troublesome so lost the love in it and sold it on.

Last year a chap who comes to a car meet which i co-run bought his fathers old ...

Re: 1850 Auto, incorrect speedo reading

Apologies for jumping on this thread with my own similar question but i have the same issue but with a manual 1850, i believe the speedo cable is original and it's on the original 155x13 wheels but at a indicated 50mph I'm apparently doing 60mph according to the GPS on my phone, not ideal when in a ...

Searching for DUK553V Sprint.

As above I'm looking to make contact with the owner of DUK553V a red Sprint, nothing dodgy, I've gained the original passport to service in some magazines I've been given and I'd like to give it to the current owner, it's showing as having recently changed owner and being taxed, it's all filled in ...

Re: Sprint shock absorbers

I've just refitted the standard front springs back to my Sprint as the 1" lower ones made the front too crashy and the subframe hit the ground and found the adjustable Spax that a previous owner fitted about 8 years/6000 miles ago to be completely drained out of oil and the bottom polybush eyelet to ...

Re: My first Dolly - 1979 1500 SE

So the other weekend dad came over to sort out this running issue, we removed the carbs and gave then a good clean, refitted them, re timed the car and voila it's running perfect again! Took it on a road test and it's spot on, it's quite grumbly at higher revs but I'm guessing that's standard for a ...

Re: My first Dolly - 1979 1500 SE

There's been progress on this, although a bit slow, I shined the giant "D" into the night sky like Batman or He-Man and thankfully a TDC member came forth and offered me a good head!

Re: My first Dolly - 1979 1500 SE

I've been rubbish keeping this thread updated but much has been happening in camp Dolly, following up from last time the garage had the car back in again and 2 weeks later after lots of moaning they managed to fix the juddering, I forget exactly what the problem was but i think it may have been a ...

Re: My first Dolly - 1979 1500 SE

Right I've just had a little look under it, everything looks exactly as it should, i can't see no damaged bushes or pipework in the wrong place. The only thing i have spotted though that theres fresh oil drips coming from between the bellhousing and the engine, maybe it's leaking oil again inside ...

Re: My first Dolly - 1979 1500 SE

Hello, I thought I'd make a bit of a update, Last week i dropped the car off at a local mechanic i know, the clutch was juddering, the wheel bearing was noisy and i wanted the carbs and tappets tightened.

I got it back yesterday having at the clutch done, the old one was cracked and the springs ...
