Re: dolomite 1300 clutch

The 1300 clutch sizes you quote 165mm are the standard size fitted to them. The ones advertised now for them 182mm are for 1500s which are cheaper and readily available because of there much wider use in MG's. I have taken this up in the past with suppliers and they quote manufacturers lists e.g. Q ...

Re: E10 fuel

I was speaking to a friend yesterday who has a Standard Companion. It has not been out much this year after it was vandalized and it has been in his coach house undergoing repairs. It has been started and moved around regularly but yesterday it would not go. Checked everything and ended up with the ...

Re: A question for 1300 & 1500cc owners -Does your car have deflector boards fitted

All models with 1300 & 1500 engines would have left the factory with them fitted, but being made from effectively cardboard they can easily be damaged and were not replaced.

Re: Water in Passenger Footwell - still!

On the Dolomega, I'm going to cover the holes in the heater plenum with "grille mesh" that lets air in but stops leaves etc getting in.

Just have to work out a way of getting the mesh panels to stay in place but still be easy to remove in case of need. I always remember that the poor b**ger ...

New Salesman

A young man moves to a new town and goes searching for a job. He goes into a department store and asks if there are any vacancies.

The manager asks, "Do you have any sales experience?"

He says, "Yeah, I was a salesman back home".

Well, the manager liked the young man, so he gave him the job. "You ...

Re: Water in Passenger Footwell - still!

I sold my 1300 recently and the new owner has more Triumphs and Standards than garage space so it spends some time outside. In my ownership and previous owners it always lived in a garage. He told me he found lots of water sloshing around in the passenger foot-well after it was out in the recent ...

Re: Dog For Sale

Two men in a pub. One was sitting with a large dog.
That’s a lovely looking dog said first man.
Do you want to buy him says second man.
He’s a talking dog.
Don’t be silly there isn’t such a thing as a talking dog..
At that moment the dog chimes in saying
I beg your pardon, I am a talking dog, and I ...

Re: Young Love

A young lad had a promise off his girlfriend they would do it for the 1st time tonight. So being young and nervous he called in the chemist for advice and condoms. The chemist was very helpful with all the advice and sold the boy a pack of 10. Later that evening he was invited to the girls house for ...

Welcome TS I too am a 1300 fan and know the car you got off Steve well. It is a sound car that you will be able to improve on. Steve told me of your background, he bought my 1300 so sold this, and I'am sure with your skills it will be done well.

Re: Wildlife

I know a lot has been said about us noticing our wildlife more this year due to the virus. However yesterday my son and I were talking about how very many fewer moths, butterflies, bees, wasps, sparrows, but more finches, and even the humble house fly we had seen this year. Last year we were ...

Re: ROO's Heritage certificate!

These certificates do not always make sense and its possible that not all the information was recorded correctly. Recently someone was asking about their cars manufacturing date using the chassis number as a guide. The car was registered as built after mine by a few weeks but the chassis number was ...

Home Testing

1. Pour a large glass of red wine, try to smell it.

2. If you can smell the wine then drink it & see if you can taste it.

3. If you can taste & smell it confirms you don't have covid.

Last night I did the test 19 times, & all were negative, thank God.

Tonight I am going to do the test again ...
