Re: Windscreen washer pumps

Wonky wobbly jets are a common problem. I have just used some resin to stop them moving about.

Re: Dolly 1300cc clutch

Hi Jod. I found your article interesting to read and I can understand that you have found that it works however after checking my spare slave cylinder a part number GSY105 it does have different size treads so I would not be able to install it as you suggest. I believe that a GSY103 is notched on th...

Re: 1500 Gearbox - Non-overdrive

I was a bit quick with my initial response in that I was only considering the internals which you had checked out. I think you were right to replace the front and rear seals but I would also replace the speedo drive seal part NKC105 as I changed a rear seal on one car thinking it was that which was ...

Re: Windscreen washer pumps

Purchase a modern 12v pump such as part wp12 from www.vechicle products.co.uk. as they seem to last a lot better. I have fitted one on the top of the washer reservoir as the wires and pipes were long enough to fit it there and it is so easy to get at. Use the wife's hair drier to warm up the plastic...

The problem is you can't be certain that any new parts will be as good as the ones fitted.

Re: Ziebart Treatment, a poll.

Ziebart and other rust protection treatments. When I purchased my first 1500HL Dolomite in May 1977 I had it Ziebarted and when I checked it over I did find a couple of areas where I considered the coverage to be either lacking or poor so I took it back and these areas were treated to my satisfactio...

Re: Triumph Dolomite Club International Rally (TDCIR) 2024

I went up to Worksop on the Wednesday before the event and did not come home until Tuesday. There were plenty of places to visit in the area. It was made more enjoyable as we were able to go out for an evening meal after the event with Mike Tailor and his wife. I am always disappointed that more clu...

Re: Rear crankshaft seal

Has anyone identified the part number and supplier for a suitable double lip seal as that does seem to be a good idea.

Re: [Dolomite 1500] Wheel Size and Other Options

I would think it would be quite easy to change all the 3/8 studs for sprint 7/16 studs. This could be another option.

Re: Sprint fuel filler cap

What you can do is to take the rubber seal out and then cut a groove across it to let air in and then replace it. I do not think many MoT engineers actual look at the seal and it is no different from having a vented cap.

Re: Sprint fuel filler cap

It can be quite difficult to see if a locking type petrol cap is vented so I will attach a photograph of a cap that I stripped down to find out how it was vented.

Re: Shaun - steering clamps

When the racks were originally built the hole had a small round plastic plug fitted in it, part number 145108. I have been told it acts as a damper on the rack shaft as obviously there must be some play between the shaft and the racks tube The plastic plug was kept in place by wrapping insulating ta...

I have found what should be a good air and car show on 13th July

The Army Flying Museum is holding its annual fund raising event Wallop Wheels and Wings on Saturday 13th July. For details read and complete https://form.jotform.com/232491884427061. It only costs£10 to register your car. I did contact our area rep Chis Curtis to find out if he would be attending. U...
