Re: Britax Folding Sunroof

I get flex when open. I fitted it without the strenghener to the existing roof as it didn't have them.
I believe they were metal braces fitted under the headlining, that's what I'm after

Re: Build dates

Cheers all, I've done the Web search prior to ordering a full heritage certificate. It looks like from April 2019 I can gain historic vehicle status and exception from MOT & Tax. luckily I've got the sprint engine and drive train, not overly modified.
I had funny feeling BL liked to keep cars sat ...

Build dates

My Sprint was registered 25/04/1980, VA31111, was wondering if it's worth getting a heritage certificate?
If I could show a 1978 build I'd get exemption from MOT and Tax
What do you reckon?

Re: Vibration but only when under load

Don't just check gearbox mount, just as likely to be a knackered engine mount, allowing engine to hit steering rack under acceleration. I've had it personally, it does feel & sound terminal but it's not.

Re: Not start after carb rebuild

I used to get a similar problem on some vintage wedding cars I owned. I fitted electric pumps in the end, it gets the fuel there without flatting the battery. I had one where I used to take the filter bowl off fill it with fuel, put it back and fire it up, the speed of the engine would pull the fuel ...

Re: Adjusting Spax gas shock absorbers

I personally would start at the zero setting and adjust as required to suit roads and driving.
just upping a couple of clicks at a time till it feels good.
usually not many clicks on the back and more on the front, it's all to taste.

Re: What tires do you use for a sprint?

Always used tubeless 185 60 13s on a Sprint, on standard wheel or even my compomotives. If the inside is properly cleaned and fitted they don't tend to leak.

Its just a thought but it could be the rear flexible brake hose collapsed?
break the joint after and see if fluid comes out.

Re: Improving brakes on Dolomite 1850

There is no way to get better brakes without modification. The Tracker Jack conversion is the best safety mod you can do, I've run it for years on the roads it is superb.
