Yes Steve, I did notice that when I got home i carried on playing with all the instruments, as you do, and i had noticed that the rev counter illumination light was not working so this could explain the reason why the rev counter stopped when i turned the lights on?? So will tackle the dash out ...

as I'm using the car for my brothers wedding in a few weeks so want to be reliable if you know what I mean, so anybody out there that could pin point the problem as i want to post pictures in the club magazine too

Hi its been a while since I've been on here anyway my 1850 has been off the road for 18 months so after someone rear ended me🙄and now all fixed by myself I now have an annoying electrical issue with the volt gauge and instrument cluster, what's happening is the volt gauge drops and at the same time ...

Many thanks. will have to turn it the right way up then, was put in wrong then, not by me
i suspose i would have to mark the splines going into the knuckle so that it goes back in the the same postion, keeping steering wheel straight and wheels straight ahead

are you saying the bush is upside down? in other words should it be pressed downwards from inside the car and not put in from the engine side?

just to be brief, the lower steering bush has popped out, :? since replacing all of my subframe bushes as doing a pair at a time (front then back), well pleased with job i had done, when moving onto my next job i had noticed the steering wheel had a lot of up and down movement!

Soft top cleaner/protection
Seen my brother tonight and he owns an audi convertable and he has asked me or you good people here on the club
is there a good product on the market (cleaner/protector) suitable for the soft top material as it is now showing signs of mould.

I use "metal polish wadding" or "liquid metal polish" by the makers of "Harringtons" web site = http://www.mpmconsumerproducts.com . i only paid £1 per tin :) dont remember where i bought it from though, somewhere like "b & m" or poundland probably . comes up shiny for me!

thanks for your replies, wont be till the w/end before i have another go :) Just a quick word about that rear mount from the pic and how perished it looks , that has been like that from when i bought the car back in 2006 so should it have passed the m.o.t like it was each year?, :? its just bugged ...

Thanks for the tip ian, :) today was my day off, so firstly i put the headlamps back together, all clean etc then checked out the indicator lenses new seals, all fine, then tackled the subframe mounts, well made a start :) jacked the car right up on the sills supported on axle stands+large chocks of ...
