Anyone got a good driver's mat like the one below, or a pair of any genuine fronts - as I know there's at least one other pattern with Triumph on them that fit Dolomites, as I have them, but again it's 2 lefts, no right.

Murdo,
would you be prepared to send me a spare LH mat?
If you do, then I can investigate getting RH ones (and more LH ones) made.
A friend of mine is a genius at this sort of stuff and likes a challenge.

Thatโ€™s good Murdo.
First I will speak to my friend to see what he thinks.
He is actually from Lithuania but moved here a few years ago
and during lockdown he used his time to make literally thousands of face visors
for the NHS.

Thanks
Ian

The company that made these (aftermarket!) mats still exists, I located them a few years ago, but unfortunately they no longer hold the tooling for the mat; I say Mat, singular, as the ones I have are reversible, patterned to both sides. At the time, it was uneconomic to have the tooling remade.

We are on for giving this a go.
My friend Saul cannot see any reason why not.

Murdo, you have a PM.

Alun, about 30 years ago I bought a pair of mats from Sprintspares.
These were handed and I am thinking were Unipart branded.
Given their generous width,
I think they were intended for the Stag and 2000 as well as Dolomites?

Anyhow, we can bit give this a try.

Ian.

Okay, no one is to laugh, shake their head in disbelief, call me stupid, un-observant, blind, or anything else that comes to mind when I show this photo. I was getting the mat ready to send to Ian when I noticed. ๐Ÿ™ˆ Part No: NKC0570.

I also have another set of Triumph Dolomite mats too (915872) with a different print in them, and as discovered with the other set they too are reversible, interchangeable. This set come with the matching boot mat.

Again, I thought I had 2 lefts ๐Ÿ™ˆ embarrassing ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ

Maybe I was too subtle about it...

Never picked up on the "reversible" bit in your post Alun ๐Ÿ™ˆ I should have read your post more carefully. They're Triumph approved mats, same as Wingard and Tex mirrors, Lucas switches etc - and both having Triumph format part numbers.

No one could ever accuse you of being subtle Alun ๐Ÿ˜‚

Here's the Unipart label (with part number) for the Dolomite front mats. Someone has just been very fortunate to find a NOS set, not that I'm envious in any way.......lol, and that's the label that was on the packaging. So clearly sold as the approved part for Dolomites like so many other bits, lights, switches etc. And on the mats are stamped NKC0570.

It is actually the 1500fwd they were made for Murdo.

I have made some progress with getting ones made for the back of my car,
Saul can use 3D printing to make a mould first
then use silicone for the mats.
That is the good news, the bad news is that this is rather time consuming
so they are likely to cost considerably more than the ยฃ8/pair for NOS NKC570!

thanks

Ian
